Trees/ Mrs. Lott

(no subject)

Okay... Sorry I never posted an intro, I was in a rush to get out this morning.

Anyways, I'm Eli, a 15 (almost 16) year old Cinema buff obsessed with all things transvestite and foreign. I live in NC, and have been plagued my entire life with an inability to see independent film in theatres for lack of Arthouses in my area. I am, however, graced with several incredibe independantly run Video Stores, a few of which are very reliable with their obscure/foreign selection. My favorite directors are Pedro Almodovar (HE IS GOD), Todd Haynes, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Peter Greenaway, Quentin Tarantino and Roman Polanski.

My current favorites in not much of an order, except for Hedwig which is always on top:

Hedwig and the Angry Inch by John Cameron Mitchell

Todos Sobre Mi Madre and La Mala Educacion by Pedro Almodovar

The Cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover by Peter Greenaway

L.I.E. by Michael Cuesta

Dancer in the Dark by Lars Von Trier

My other longtime favorites include The Wizard of OZ, ET, Ghost World (I pretty much know this movie by heart), In America, Amelie, Pulp Fiction, Rosemary's Baby, Harold and Maude, Rocky Horror Picture Show.

There's nothing more I like more than sitting down to watching a beefy-chunk-of-a-depressing movie. On the average day I'd rather watch something depressing than a light-hearted comedy. I don't know why, because in general I'm a fairly cheery person, I just love to fall into that deep black well you get when watching some Intellectual hunk of cinema.

I'm also a quote"photographer"unquote you can check out my quote"art"unquote here> http://juliensane.deviantart.com/

That is all.
