12 & 13/100

12. Misery (1990)  "A famous novelist is "rescued" from a car crash by an obsessed fan."  I saw this movie 17 years ago.  I have been bedridden since an accident 5 weeks ago (I feel down a flight of stairs) and decided to watch it again.  This is a very good movie (but maybe not the movie to see when you are bedridden and dependent on others for care).  The movie is good but  Kathy Bates carries this film and makes it a must see for all horror fans.  Seriously, Annie is what makes this movie.  Bates does a haunting job!!!   7/10

13. The Haunting (1963)  "Dr. Markway, doing research to prove the existence of ghosts, investigates Hill House, a large, eerie mansion with a lurid history of violent death and insanity."  This film should be seen by all lovers of the haunted house/horror genre.  I loved being pulled into the spooky and disturbing mind of Eleanor a sexually repressed neurotic.  But, viewers should understand that even though this film worked quite well in 1963, I think it will leave most modern day horror fans wanting more.  Do not mistake this film with the 1999 version.  The remake was a mess and NEVER delivered.
