52 & 53/100
52. Shaun of the Dead (2004)- "A man decides to turn his moribund life around by winning back his ex-girlfriend, reconciling his relationship with his mother, and dealing with an entire community that has returned from the dead to eat the living." I just love this film!!! I have seen it several times and actually purchased my own DVD. Usually movies with bumbling and clueless characters drive me nuts but this comic duo really works! I never thought I would root for anyone as clueless as Shaun and Ed. I was cheering for them both throughout this movie. If you haven't seen it, you really MUST!!! 8/10
53. Ghost Ship (2002)- "A salvage crew that discovers a long-lost 1962 passenger ship floating lifeless in a remote region of the Bering Sea soon notices, as they try to tow it back to land, that 'strange things' happen." This movie is a mixed bag. It has one of the BEST death scenes and the music is great...it really matches the movie. BUT the film is a mess. The film-makers strain to give the film plenty of atmosphere, but they can't even do that. The ending...well what can I say except that it has been done a million times before. Overall the film falls flat because it makes no impact at all. 5/10
