54 & 55

54. No Country for Old Men (2007)- "Violence and mayhem ensue after a hunter stumbles upon some dead bodies, a stash of heroin and more than $2 million in cash near the Rio Grande."  The Coen brother's have a way of making me feel schizophrenic!  I saw this movie three nights ago and I am still sitting here mumbling, "I loved this movie...what a piece of trash...I loved this movie...what a piece of trash."  I think my bottom line is that you should see this movie just so you can see the incredible acting of Javier Bardem.  I also think that though this is NOT a great film it IS a triumph for the Coen brothers, who are the most interesting scriptwriters and directors in the business.  You may love this may hate this film...but you will NOT finish viewing this movie feeling like it was the same old thing done over again.

55. The X Files (1998)- "Mulder and Scully must fight the government in a conspiracy and find the truth about an alien colonization of Earth."  Alright so it took me ten years to see this movie...I'm probably the last person to have viewed this film but here goes anyway!  This is a must see for fans of the television series and a probable miss for those who aren't.   Let me be clear, you will understand the film even if you don't watch the show BUT it probably won't be worth it.  I love David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson but the entire film probably should have been a television special.  It just didn't have enough bite to impress non fans of the show.
